You may define different types of preventive service for the same object. For example, you can decide that a photocopier needs different levels of preventive service depending on the frequency of its use, type of photocopier, and any other conditions that may affect the service levels of the object.

Preventive service information for the service object contains the following: a recommended service kit (automatically creates order lines on the service order in preventive service order generation), and service and inspection details.

Codes for the various preventive service types that are available are located in the Preventive service type table. When the preventive service information is updated, the Service object history log is also updated.

  1. Select the Work with service objects menu item.
  2. On the initial panel, select the applicable object and click Prev service.
  3. You access Work with service objects, Preventive service information. Click Add.
  4. On the detail panel, the following field is mandatory:

Displays preventive service intervals for the object (in weeks) within the service period.
    Service period
Displays the whole service period in weeks for the object.

Note: The preventive service calendar is automatically updated. To view the calendar click Preventive service calender on the Preventive service information, Header view panel.

Note: The Last inspected field is updated when the preventive service order is generated from this information. However, when the SVC time is entered on the service order job header, a check is made against the preventive service calendar. If a record with order and job number is found, this field is set to the SVC time for the job.

Click OK to update. Exit the routine.
