The following describes how you enter an inventory transaction when FIFO is defined as cost type in the DIS control file.
- Select the Enter inventory transactions menu item.
- You access Inventory transaction entry. The same fields are mandatory as described in Enter inventory transactions. If the transaction entered is a stock withdrawal (negative quantity in the Quantity field), go to step 4.
- You access the next Inventory transaction entry panel, where you enter a cost price. You have two options:
- Manually enter a cost price for the transaction. Click OK to create the inventory transaction and return to the initial Inventory transaction entry panel.
- Click Select FIFO transactions to view existing FIFO transactions and select a cost price from one of them. Go to step 4.
- You access FIFO transaction selection. Select the transaction you want to use to retrieve the cost price for the inventory transaction. Note: Selection can only be made for those transactions marked with * in the Act (Active) column. The transactions marked with * are the transactions needed to cover the stock on hand quantity plus the quantity that has been delivered to the customer but not invoiced. Click OK after you select a FIFO transaction to create the inventory transaction.
