You can tailor the search fields that you want to be available on the Product search page. This is done via Search options, which can then be applied on the following levels:
- Application
- User group
- User
The following is described here:
IBS NetStore comes preloaded with the following Search option types:
Search option type | Description |
---|---|
ITEM_CODE | Item code |
ITEM_DESC | Item description |
ITEM_GROUP | Item group |
ITEM_NAME | Item internal name |
ITEM_CAT 1- 6 | Item category 1 through 6 |
For each Search option type, the way in which the information should be presented (i.e. via a list and numeric) is also preloaded, but can be changed. Select the Search option type menu item to edit.
You then decide which search options you want to use for your site. These can be tailored and applied on application, user group and user level.
Configuring the search options
IBS NetStore preloads one Default code (NetStore default), which contains all the preloaded search option types. If you do not want to expose all these search fields on your site or you want to tailor the search options for a particular user group or user, you can create new search options. The steps below will describe how to configure a search option for a wild card search.
- Click Search option.
- Click New.
- You access the New search option window:
- On the Search option details window, click New.
- You access the New search option detail window:

Select the Search option setting from the drop down list and click OK.
The new search option (in this case WS) is now configured for this user. When this user signs on to NetStore and accesses the Product search page, he/she will only have the Description field available from which to search for items, as shown below:

Since the search match string was “like”, the user can enter a wild card (% around the search characters). The result will be all items containing, in this case, AI in the description, as shown below:
