The following describes how to create a manufacturing order by copying an existing manufacturing order.
- Select the Work with manufacturing orders menu item.
- You access Work with manufacturing order. Select the applicable manufacturing order and click Copy.
- You access Manufacturing order maintenance. You can change the following fields:
- Unit
- Enter the stock or structure unit of the item.
- Order type
- Enter the order type to be used for this manufacturing order.
- Copy structure
- Indicate if the bill of material should be copied to the manufacturing order.
- Copy operations
- Indicate if the bill of routing should be copied to the manufacturing order.
- Copy from order
- The order number of the manufacturing order you are copying is defaulted but can be changed. Enter the order number of the manufacturing order you want to copy.
- You access Manufacturing order maintenance, Header. You can change the following fields:
- Order quantity
- The quantity cannot be changed if the order status is 40-60. If the order is linked to a sales order, the quantity can only be changed if the status is lower than 40 and if the new quantity is higher than the original.
- Planned start date and time
- This is stated manually or calculated by the system from the operation list using the completion date or start date as the starting point. If this field is left blank, click Backward re-schedule to let the system calculate the planned start date from the operation times in the operation list.
- Note: The time textbox is only displayed if the MPL-TIME (plan operation by date and time) function is activated in the Function control file.
- Planned completion date and time
- This is stated manually or calculated by the system from the operation list using the completion date or start date as the starting point. If this field is left blank, click Forward re-schedule to let the system calculate the planned completion date from the operation times in the operation list.
- Note: The time textbox is only displayed if the MPL-TIME (plan operation by date and time) function is activated in the Function control file.
- Planner
- Item planned quant
- This field is only displayed and can only be modified if alternative items/co-products exist for the manufacturing order. If the order is linked to a sales order, then the quantity can only be changed if:
- The order status is less than 40
- The new quantity is higher than the original quantity
- If the bill of material and the bill of routing were copied to the new manufacturing order they can be changed. Click Operations to change the bill of routing or Material to change the bill of material. - If you did not copy the item structure to the new manufacturing order you will have to create a new bill of material and bill of routing. Click Operations to add a bill of routing or Material to add a bill of material. Click OK.
You can also add or change the item structure on this panel:
Make your changes and click OK to update the information. Click Cancel to return to the initial panel. Exit the routine.
