Block orders

Block orders, (also known as Repetitive manufacturing), are used for repetitive manufacturing, thereby simplifying the manufacturing of items that are regularly produced. Instead of creating separate manufacturing orders each time an item is to be produced, you create a block order in which you decide whether the item is to be produced each day, week or month. According to the default values stated in the block order, manufacturing orders for the chosen item can be created automatically on a regular basis or manually.

In order to be able to create manufacturing orders, a bill of material must exist for the item that is to be produced.

As you work your way through the different stages in the block order cycle, the system will automatically assign status codes to the block order. The status codes for block orders are:

Status Description
10 Ready
40 Order created
60 Closed

Note: You can view the status of the manufacturing orders that are included in a block order via the Block order references enquiry.
