You can copy historical demand data and demand forecast data from a desired item/warehouse combination to the item/warehouse combination you are currently working with. This is a useful function if you are setting up new items in the system.
If you are copying data to an existing item/warehouse combination, you can either choose to add to the existing data in the Forecast file or to replace it. All records for the selected item/warehouse will be copied to the Forecast file for the item/warehouse record that is being updated. In addition, the Copied field will be set to YES for all period records up until and including the present one for the item/warehouse combination receiving the data. This gives you the ability to identify copied demand data as opposed to real demand data.
- Repeat steps 1-3 in Set up inventory control item information manually.
- On the Item file maintenance, Inventory management panel, click Copy demand.
- You access Item file maintenance, Inventory management.
- Item
- Enter the code of the item from which you want to copy the demand data.
- Warehouse
- Enter the code of the warehouse from which you want to copy the demand data.
- Replace demand
- Indicate if you want to replace the existing demand data. If YES, then Add demand must be set to NO.
- Add demand
- Indicate if you want to add the copied demand data to the existing demand data. If YES, then Replace demand must be set to NO.
