This panel lists the various numbers (fax, telephone and modem) through which you can reach the office of your business partner and the business partner’s contact persons. In addition to this, it lists other contact details in respect of e-mail and cell phone. The different mediums of communication are referred to as client types.
Contact information that is retrieved to this panel through the Attach contact to role function in the Business partner file maintenance routine can only be maintained via the Work with contacts, Assign client routine. See About working with external contacts for more information.
Options
Set default | Select this option to set the default way of communicating with this business partner. Only one record may be set as the default per business partner. |
Unset default | Select this option to de-activate a record as the default for this business partner. |
Delete | Select this option to delete the record. Note: Only records that are not created in the Work with contacts, Assign client routine can be deleted here. |

Selection fields
- Type
- This column lists all the client types that have been activated for this business partner’s contacts.
- Name
- This column lists the names of all contacts that have been connected to this business partner’s role(s). Or, displays the location to which the client type has been directed.
- Number
- This column lists the telephone/fax/modem/e-mail/GSM SMS numbers or addresses for each client type.
- Dft
- If this column is set to YES it denotes that the client type to which it corresponds has been set as the default way of contacting this business partner.
Business partner file maintenance, Phone numbers (GDMD01704)
On this panel you can change the details of the various numbers through which you can reach your business partner.
Note: Records which are created in the Work with contacts, Assign client routine and retrieved to this panel through the Attach contact to role function in the Business partner file maintenance routine can only be changed via these routines. If you want to enter a new contact number for the business partner, you do this via Attach contact to role, as well. See About working with external contacts for more information.
- Number
- Displays the number and description of the business partner you are working with.
- Phone number type
- Indicates the type of number you selected to change.
- Phone number
- Displays the existing number, but can be changed. If this number was retrieved from the Business partner file maintenance, Basic data panel, (Company phone or Company fax fields), then these fields will be updated if changed here.
- Location name
- Displays the location to which the selected phone number is directed, but can be changed.
- Default number
- Indicates if the selected number is defined as the default number for contacting your business partner.
- Additional text
- Enter any additional text for the business partner or contact, for informational purposes.

Note: Only those records which are not created in the Work with contacts, Assign client routine can be deleted here. Those records which are created in that routine can only be inactivated. To inactivate such a record, you must access the Work with contacts, Assign client routine. See About working with external contacts for more information.
