The following describes how to start the automatic R/F batch creation program. Note: If an R/F batch creation template is defined in the following programs, then the creation will be started automatically:
- Pick list printout
The automatic R/F batch creation will start when the pick lists are printed. - Stock take list selection
The automatic R/F batch creation will start when the stock take list is printed. - Replenishment suggestion creation
The automatic R/F batch creation will start when the replenishment suggestion is created. - Put away from bulk suggestion creation
The automatic R/F batch creation will start when the put away from bulk suggestion is created.
The batch creation program automatically creates R/F batches for a warehouse according to the selected batch creation template. The program checks if the selected template includes batch rules for shipments and/or stock takes. If several batch rules are included they will be processed according to the batch rule sequence. The restrictions and selection criteria defined in the Work with batch rules program control the creation of the batch and the type of suggestions that are added to it. Valid suggestions are selected from different suggestion files and a new batch is created when all the batch rule criteria are fulfilled.
Note: If a staging zone and location are defined for the combination manner of transport and warehouse in the R/F staging locations table, then this zone and location will be retrieved for the created batches. If not, then the staging zone and location will be retrieved from Work with warehouses.
Prerequisites
Before you run the automatic batch creation you must set up a batch rule in Work with batch rules and a batch creation template in Work with batch creation templates. The batch rule must be connected to the batch creation template. See Connect batch rules to a batch creation template.
- Select the Automatic creation of R/F batches menu item.
- You access Create R/F instruction batches. Note: This program can also be called from the Work with R/F instructions panel. Complete the following fields:
- Warehouse
- Enter a code from Work with warehouses indicating for which warehouse the batches should be created. The Activate RFH field must be set to YES for the selected warehouse.
- Template
- Enter a code from Work with R/F batch creation templates indicating the template according to which the batches should be created. Note: If a resource group is defined in the batch rule, then the R/F batches will be assigned to that resource group automatically.
Click OK to run the batch creation.
- You access Work with R/F instructions, Open batches. Click Refresh. The automatically created batches are displayed. Exit the routine.
